My name is Paul D Hinds and I am running for Ohio State Senate. I am a Libertarian, and I became one because I felt that the Republicans were getting too carried away with controlling our lives and telling us what to think and do, yet the Democrats had a very consistent message that they wanted to keep telling us how to spend our own money. It didn’t matter which party you looked at, they both just keep spending and spending.
Recognizing they both had problems spending, and watching how our state and country have been evolving, I became extremely uncomfortable with the status quo. I was constantly saying how someone needed to fix our government, and represent us, not special interests. And then I realized something so revolutionary, yet so
I opened a retail party store called Holiday Supply Etc. I had a large supply of wedding, birthday, and seasonal holiday supplies. In 2007, my family suffered a loss. My uncle passed away very unexpectedly due to a stroke, and I decided at that time I needed to spend more of my time with my family instead of spending it all at either of my stores, so I sold the company.
From that point, I became a brand ambassador for some very high-end technology firms. The clients I represented were HP, Panasonic, and Sony, just to name a few. Marketing is a very good industry to be in, however it does require quite a bit of travel. Those of you who know me and my work schedule know that I get around the state of Ohio quite a bit.

I'm running for office because no one is standing for what's right. We're being misrepresented in Columbus, and our decisions regarding our lives are being made for us. I don't believe that's the government's right to make decisions based on our lives without our input.

I believe Ohio is facing two extremely important issues: jobs, and unaccountable politicians. My immediate goal if elected, would be to create a social media site telling voters every vote I make, with reasoning behind each vote. After I spend 10 minutes working on setting that up, I am going to go to work directly to get the Government out of Small Business, and make business more-affordable to do in Ohio again.
